![]() According to CareerCast, some of the most highly desirable jobs, suchas account executive, broadcaster, events coordinator and public relationsmanager, are the most overrated jobs in 2015. ¡°These jobs have positive publicperception but a less attractive reality," says Kyle Kensing, OnlineContent Editor, CareerCast. "While the most overrated jobs may have highsalary potential, excitement and glamour, there are trade-offs to working inthese professions that can include long hours, high pressure and stiffcompetition for positions or clients." The CareerCast's new report on overratedand underrated jobs also identifies architect, attorney, management consultantand wholesale sales representative as overrated jobs. Upside for Underrated Jobs According to a company spokesperson,accountant, environmental engineer and human resource manager may not be among themost glamorous careers but they are fulfilling, meaningful professions, placingthem on CareerCast's 2015 most underrated jobs list. Other jobs that made thelist are multimedia artist, geologist, civil engineer, physiologist andveterinarian. The landscape for underrated jobs pointsto favorable hiring outlook in the coming years," notes Kensing. "Whilethey may not attract much attention, these jobs are often lower stress and canbe high-paying." The overrated professions were chosenfrom the Jobs Rated report's list of 200 jobs for their inherent stress,competition and industry volatility and high job turnover. Underrated jobs wereidentified for their favorable income and environment, and low stress,according to a company announcement. CareerCast is not shy about pointingout the upsides and downsides of the so-called glamour jobs. ¡°Architect has a relatively high projectedgrowth outlook, but the industry¡¯s hiring depends on economic factors more thansome other fields. As the recession demonstrated, construction is especiallysusceptible to marketplace volatility. Similarly, sales representatives canexpect a job market dictated by sometimes unpredictable fiscal factors, addingto the inherent competitiveness of the profession,¡± notes a companyspokespersonon its website. He adds that the hiring outlook forattorneys is fair at 10%, but the job market is challenging. An April 2015 NewYork Times report found recent law school graduates burdened with debt andtaking on other work while searching for opportunities in the legalindustry. ¡°These are all factors to consider when evaluating our mostoverrated jobs. These can be terrific careers, but understand it¡¯s not allglamour or fun." CareerCast's Most OverratedJobs
