The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:
  • Partner with the Country Manager, Korea as strategic business partner and human resource leader, as well as with the Head of R&D for Korea, and the Plant Manager. 
  • Support achievement of overall business objectives through the design and implementation of effective HR strategy, programs, practices, policies and tools.
  • Develop and implement organizational structure and alignment recommendations linked to strategy
  • Help the business ensure there is a continuing talent pool of skills and leadership available to drive the business.  This will include participating in succession planning, training, talent development and performance management activities, as well as networking appropriately outside CMC.
  • Ensure company values and principles are sustained and take a lead role in fostering a work environment that is focused on building trusted partnerships, innovation, globalization, talent development, diversity and inclusion and operational excellence.
  • Maximize the value of people by providing delivery of high-quality HR services, employee relations processes, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Act as a cross cultural ambassador to ensure CMC Korea operates effectively locally and globally
  Position Requirements            
  • Strong educational background with a degree from a respected academic institution, preferably in Korea
  • Minimum of 7+ years of HR experience; combination of generalist & recruiting experience preferred
  • Experience working with diverse business partners and client groups is preferred: candidates should have work experience gained outside of Korea OR demonstrate a track record of working with diverse teams in global corporations.  MNC work experience is strongly preferred.
    • He or she will demonstrate a strong understanding of the differences between Korean / Asia / US cultures & work styles and will be able foresee and ameliorate potential conflicts
  • Experience gained in both plant and professional environments is preferred. 
  • Work experience in the semi-con industry is preferred but not necessary
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English & Korean
  • Strong influencing skills with a natural aptitude for relationship building, communication and team work
  • Ability to provide coaching, counsel and strategic advice at all levels of the organization.
